The city of Ulaanbaatar, despite its relatively small size of occupying only 0.3% of Mongolia's entire territory, has become a significant hub of economic activity and human settlement. It accommodates 50% of the total population, 66% of the gross domestic product, 61% of healthcare facilities, and 96% of universities and colleges in the country. However, the concentration of people, resources, and industries has led to various social, economic, and environmental challenges, including an increase in disaster risk. Consequently, there is an urgent need to build a new city to address these issues and ensure sustainable development in the region.
The establishment of "New Kharkhorum" city serves as a potential solution to the issues of overpopulation and economic concentration in Ulaanbaatar. The proposed city will promote balanced regional and local development, offer new job opportunities, and prioritize the well-being of both humans and animals in an environmentally sustainable way. This initiative aims to achieve a comfortable, livable city that can cater to the needs of its citizens.
ContinueThe competition will be held until August 02, 2024, and winners will be awarded. The time schedule is calculated based on the UTC+8 time zone, which corresponds to the time zone of Ulaanbaatar city. UTC+8 /Ulaanbaatar city/
